Reading Challenge
My personal reading challenge is to read more books than I read the previous year. Last year I read 19 books. This year, I am falling behind. I am hoping to get to 20. The picture on this blog is just two of my bookcases, I have another that is full, and at the rate that I buy books, mostly from my own bookstore, lol, I will have to read 50 per year to read all of these. I am currently at 10, almost 11, so I have a long way to go and a short time to get there lol. I feel like the older I get, the more I need to keep reading to keep my mind sharp. I tend to be forgetful more and more, so reading seems to be helping my hold my attention to things.

SPOILER ALERT. Ok, I have finished my 14th book, Killing the Witches. This book went from witches, to the Devil himself. The Salem Witch Trials was such a horrific execution of women and men, and I honestly felt that by the time it was done, it was politically directed at people and also financially, to take land from people, that some of the politicians of the time wanted for themselves. I liked the book. It really didn’t go too in depth with the Witch Hunts and went into the beginning of our country toward the end, but it still was a good read.
I have finished my 13th book for this year so far, almost done with my 14th. I finished the Rescue which was a dramatic ending!! Loved the ending. Had to actually stop and cry a minute, lol. Nicholas Sparks is awesome at getting in our emotions!! I am now at the end of Killing The Witches. I don’t think that I will make it much further than 14 this year. That is down 5 books from last year. However, with starting this bookstore up and working more on it, and church, and life, I think I did ok with the 14 books for this year. Merry
Christmas to everyone and have a safe and wonderful New Year!!
Well, I have finished my 12th book so far this year. Man, I am falling behind and I don’t think I will be able to catch up to last year lol. I read Incidents of a Slave Girl by Harriet Jacobs. This was an excellent book, written at a biography to her live at that time. This book was published in 1861 and is an excellent book. We will definitely be getting copies of this book to sell in the store. If you haven’t read it, you definitely should. Her faith in God, thru all of her hardest times is absolutely amazing and inspiring.
I have just finished The Second Empress by Michelle Moran. This is my 11th book this month. I really liked this book, but I loved The Black Widows a little bit better
